Pioneer AVH-P3200BT & auto equalizer issue?

I've just installed a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT.

I also purchased the microphone to use the auto equalizer.

The "Auto Equalizer" button is grayed out, and I can't get it to activate. I've "even" read the manual a couple of times and don't see where I'm going wrong.

probably wouldn't help you anyway from my experience with pioneer auto eqs they never sound good
