Pioneer AVH P-4000 DVD No DVD Picture!!! Please Help!

Iam installing a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD head unit in my car. I purchased a toggle switch and i ran one end of the toggle switch to the green parking brake wire and one end to the black ground wire of the head unit. The radio works fine,it plays cds fine & all the functions on the touch screen work fine also, but when i put a did in, i get the message about watching dvd player while driving is prohibited. I click the toggle switch and another blue screen appears with a different message and ok at the bottom of the screen. When i press ok, the screen goes black, i can hear the movie and i see the chapter counter counting, but no picture! If i click the toggle switch again it returns to the blue screen with the viewing while driving is prohibited message. Why am i not getting a picture When playing a dvd?
