Pioneer AVH-3100 cutting out?

Just put my AVH-3100 in last night and I noticed that whenever the volume is turned up a little bit the speakers start cutting out when the song hits a bass line. They aren't clipping they just cut out repeatedly. I looked through the settings on the unit to find out if anything was out of the ordinary but no luck. Whats causing this?

Are you turning the volume to max? If so, you might want to use an amp to power your speakers instead of the headunit.
