ok heres the deal, i have to make a catapult for physics class, it has to make a foul shot with a regulation sized basket ball. anyone ever done this project and like to help me out with some of it, anyone have plans for one? ****, this is gonna be hard and i already have a D-. so help a brotha out? shit. i cant believe i just said that.

From the foul line, you shouldn't even need a trebuchet, a regular-style catapult would work just fine...

yeah i kinda ruled the trebuche or however you spell it out, im thinking a regular style one, hwo would i propel it? bungee cords are too stiff, im thinking some kind of spring or soemthing.

Attached is a crude drawing. Go to Home Depot/Lowes, etc, get some PVC and a spring - make the part holding the basketball hinge on the bottom edge by using a larger diameter piece of PVC. I'd suggest markings down the vertical so you could reproduce the shot. Should go together in less than a half hour, leaving time to introduce finer/fancy items - like maybe an old dead woofer basket to hold the ball.
