There's really not a lot of difference between the different versions. Making the "cool" looking stuff just requires a lot of practice and knowledge of the workings.

I'm getting better, but nowhere near someone like req who does some pretty cool stuff.

then can somebody tell me how to get the background off pics? The one i had still had a background on it from when it was taken and i dont know how to get rid of it...

magic eraser with the tolerance set accordingly wil do most of it then what i do to get the rest is stroke the entire pic and then erase the edges and such by hand

I've used PS 2.0 and up. You need to know how to use the app.
