Are you looking for a dSLR or just something you can fit in your pocket?I have been thinking about buying a decent camera and dabbling in photography.. the equipment can be crazy expensive though! Any suggestions for a not too pricey camera to start out with? Around $500 or so would be nice..

Yeah, I've had Nikon as well. I've got a D7000 now, bought it a month after release. Got amazing reviews then, is middle of the pack in it's class now. I'm happy with it though.Canon T3i is a popular entry level DSLR.I'm a fan of Nikon cameras however, but lately their different models have been hit or miss, while Cannon has be very consistent. Just do some research, there are reviews left and right online.
That's good you're happy with it.I picked up a Sony A55 for 500.. It takes fantastic pictures and the videos (especially for bass) are AMAZING.
