PG Xenon 12’s

I am trying to do some research on PG Xenon 12’s. Does anyone have experience (positive or negative) with this sub?

Looking to put together a budget system, possibly with theses subs, either a PG or Hifonics amp (not quite sure) and a quality head unit. System will be going in a 2001 Durango and I have replaced the 4 6.5’s with PG’s already.

Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated as I have been “out of the loop” for a while on this stuff.

hey... my bro runs pg xenon's, and he really likes them... they are a very nice sounding driver, they go pretty low and have somewhat good response. what are you seeking in your build up( system ) spl competition, sq, or just daily bumpin..street thumpin.. let us know what you wanna do..lots of guys in here can help you design an enclosure and help setit all up...

The xenons are low end monsters. If your looking for a good sq system, and dont mind sacrificing some space, then the xenons are for you.

Towncar, you mentioned that I would have to sacrafice some space if I went with the xenons. Do they require a large enclosure?

If so, I may want to go another direction and would be open to suggestions. I would be looking to spend around $200ish for a subs (or a sub) and around the same on an amp. I am not wanting a huge box in the back, and if I could get away with just one sub I would probably go that route.

What I am seeking in a system is hard hitting clean bass, not booming or lingering as I am not really in to that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your just looking for hard hitting bass, and you want to keep it pg, then I would personally use the octane zr series. It is actually louder than the xenons overal, and it uses a smaller box. The xenons like about 2 cubes sealed, and 3 cubes ported.

sounds like I may not want to go with xenons then since I don't want a huge box.

I was originally going to try and stay all PG, but would be open to suggestions with the emphasis on smaller encloser.

Like I mentioned you should take a good look at the zr series. YOu could get them on ebay for very cheap aswell. What kind of power you have?

go with the titaniums, not elites just reg titaniums they're good

those look like they would work well. I checked the PG site and sealed enclosure is smaller too...

I am putting together the system right now, so I have not purchased an amp or head unit yet.

I am assuming that I would want to go with a mono amp to power those... There aren't many places in my area to listen for myself so suggestions would be welcomed, from the PG line or otherwise.

YOu will be hardpressed to find some titaniums in good condition atleast. The zrs sound very similar to the ti's being an previous owner of both woofers.

Havent seen the Titaniums in quite a while. Might check with the Phoenix Gold store on ebay.

Those suckers did get loud, for the price.

They are rated @ 350rms
