I am pretty sure I can get through the classes. The research effort may require me to quit. I suppose I will make a new thread when I get there.I just don't see getting a PhD as a part time deal.. i think it would require a total commitment (or as close as possible) to get it done in under a decade. To me it would be worth a sacrifice now in order to finish before i was 40.
Perhaps this link will make it more clear:http://mtsu32.mtsu.edu:11689/

If being happy is what you say is most important, than why do you look down on people for getting an A.A.S and entering the work force entry level?I think less of people that go to local schools and only get an AA degree, but regardless of what school you go to getting a PhD requires an intelligent and dedicated person which is a respectful position. Just my opinion
If you need help deciding if you want to do it or not just ask yourself if it will be making you money, or would it be making you happy? Both of those are a fine reason to do something regardless if its getting a PhD, or just getting a construction job that pays well or makes you happy. When it all boils down that is what it comes to.
