Paypal in your bank account

If for some reason like a chargeback or something and your paypal account has no funds. Can pay pal go into your bank account and take the money? I have heard different things.

So just because you have a verified bank account linked with your pay pal doesnt give them permission?

Yes they can and will. They went into my account without me knowing until I checked my email.
