Panasonic cq-c9700u problems turning on

so its wired to factory plugs all

i get it to light up the source button blue but then a sec later it turns to a lighter blue then flickers slowly kinda like it doesnt have enought power!

is it beucase my alternator is going?not enought power?or is the deck dead?

i bought it 2nd hand thats why im stumped if its really broken or power problem

No head unit should require the engine to be running before it will turn on. It could be a wiring problem, or it could be a bad head unit. You need a multimeter for any serious troubleshooting, but any wiring problems will probably involve the ground (black) and constant (yellow) wires.
