painting new bike question

going to get me a new bike (to me at least) but i hate the kawi green. whats the best way / products for painting the plastic parts without cracking and all that crap.

they sell a promotor to adhere the paint better to plastic

do you know who makes it? do you just put in on first, then what ever paint color you want on over top?

is this a dirtbike? Anyways the best for plastic is krylon, but it still sucks and will peel easily. fork out the 100 bucks for a new plastic kit. If you want to shine it up go over scratches with fine steel wool then wipe a coat of "Mop N Glo" on it.

it's a zx9r. it has some scratches on one side, but everyone round here that has a kawi has green, plus, it's just not my color.

Is it a street bike or a dirt bike? I have a Kawi dirt bike and i would just replace them with another color. Street bike something obviously different. Might take a look at some of the Suzuki products. You might be able to use some of them on the Kawi.

sand all the parts, clean parts with mineral spirits, apply adhesion promoter...they sell it at wal-mart called bulldog adhesion promoter... apply paint..some people swear by the fusion plastic paint....i like dupli-color....apply clear coat/sealer

thats what i needed to know. do you normally pull the tank to paint it. or just tape the hell outa the bike.

Have a pro do it, or its going to look like shit.

If you insist on doing it, strip it and do it right. Why buy a green bike if you dont like green?
