I want your car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
I got a new job out of college that requires a lot of driving and little pay starting out (financial services agent) so Im running it into the ground. Im at 165,000 miles so far. Its gonna be near 200,000 when I get rid of it in a few months I imagine. I personally hate the car in many ways. Its horrendous in heavy commuter traffic because its got such short gears and it has no torque. It gets 40 mpg right now though. Its the electron blue pearl of course.

Im going to replace it with a s40 t5 and try for 300 hp.

Yeah probably. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Id rather not **** with it though. I considered a b20b/vtec frankenmotor and then decided why bother.

Its a hot looking car though. Its just not for me. It was in college, but I need a 4 door luxury car now.

A sealed box is far from making a sub immune to bottoming. Depending on the box, a ported box may actually provide more cone control than a sealed one (except below tuning).

As far as the phase thing, just because the wires match (+ to + and - to -) doesn't mean that the setup is in phase with the front stage. Swapping the phase to check it both ways is one of the standard parts of tuning the system to get the best sound. It might sound better wired to all matching, or it might sound better with the sub phase reversed. Phase is a relative thing. The speakers each have a phase response and a natural phase delay based on the inductance of the driver. Combine that with the difference in distance between the subs and the front speakers to your ears and the phase is changed yet again.

I figured out what the problem is, it's an Audiobahn
yup thats it, kust dont play bass Cd's or screwed Jeezy and it should play fine on normal music, rarely get tones that low with normal music. Bass CD's have low content that is rather looowwww.

If it dont bottom out playing rap your good to go!

even with a sealed box? I've never heard that before
Think of it this way, if the box gets big enough, its just like mounting it to a baffle in free air (this would be like a room-sized box) and it will provide almost no pressure effectively playing it in free air. Thats an extreme example but you get the idea...

However i don't think your enclosure is big enough for this to be happening so...idk
