Gauntlet is right. All savant wanted was proof, other than the fact that "you said so."

If people used here-say as proof - then sony Xplod is better than RF, PG, and JL (after all people - best buy salesmen - say it is).

So Saddam is defending himself against a US, Brittain and Spanish led attack. Thats still not proof that he had WOMD. Illegal SCUD missles, still no proof of WOMD. Burning Oil fields, still not proof.

The original reason for the war was that Saddam had WOMD, yet even the "great and wonderful:banghead:" United States of America, can't provide any proof. I've seen circumstantial evidence, Which is by no means proof. I know Saddam has chemicals that COULD be used to make chem warheads, but once again that's not proof.

The more I learn about this war, the more I realize that the US is run by a madman.

I am proud that my country is staying out of a war that is unjust, and unprovoked (well ok it was provoked by Bush being adamant about invading Iraq.

The last time I saw any statistics on this war, Bush had less than 40% of the american's support, and less than 30% of the worlds support. But these stats are a few weeks old so they may be incorrect.

This isn't a war on terrorism. I stay fairly current on news programs (listen to CBC radio for 6 hours a day), and, that I know of, Saddam hussien has commited NO terrorist acts against the US. As far as I can tell this war is about Bush II proving he's better than Bush I.

And Savant, I agree, I hope this doesn't turn out to be the end of the world. I just bought a sno-mobile (1972 TNT 440), and I hope to ride it before I die.

The human race has crossed the line from being just arrogant, over to being stupid. May god have mercy on us all.

I suggest that, those of us opposed to the "war of idiots", build an Underground Biodome. we would need food, water and supplies to last us the next 50,000+ years (after all nuclear radition takes at least that long to dissipate, the isotopes have a very long half-life, 2500 years or some other dang thing like that).

Anyone who cannot see the proof in reality refuses to see the proof.

LWW, you made a claim that the 9/11 terrorists came in through the Canada/US Border. Even if this is true - Do you know how many criminals comes into Canada to escape the US legal system. Don't go blaming Canada for letting terrorists into the US until you stop letting criminals into Canada.

BTW - We DIDN'T let these people into the states, the US let them in. The US is responsible for everything going to the US from Canada, and Canada is responsible for everything coming into Canada from the US.

That one I'll give you. We were guilty of assuming that Canada was enforcing it's own immigration laws and adhering to treaties between us pertaining to immigration laws...which is why we have such a large open border.

doesn't justify the loss of life going on, if you ask me. We claimed to be going in for WOMD, none found yet.. and chem/bio weaps.. none found yet.. though, you say

which actaully means NOTHING.. sensors are set to go off for any of MANY reasons, not just because there are deadly chemicals in the air. When these sensors go off, we do tests, and if any of them showed 'dangerous chemicals that could be construde as Chemical weapons', I"m sure we would hear about it.. the sensors go off, nothing found.. that is NOT proof.. oh, wait, by your thinking it is.. sorry.. my bad.

Am I missing something here? Didn't the pilots get liscenses from US offices? Didn't the US let these people meander around and get training and liscenses and such ? If they did that by comming in from Canada, I'm not sure that's a point.. There are plenty of illegal aliens in this country that come in from Florida and across Mexico.. If there was something significant about the Canada connection, I've not heard it .. I'd ask for a link so I could become informed, but I don't want to have to bounce back and forth for 30 posts to get it..

I'm not as informed and educated when it comes to foreign policies and other global affairs like you and LWW are, but IMO, peace wasn't an option in this case. It was obvious that Saddam wouldn't cooperate with anyone, and he needs to be taken out of power. I was listening to a clip from a radio station where they had an anti-war protestor, who was an American woman, and a man that was for the war, who happened to be from Iraq. The man provided a strong arguement for the war, stating how Saddam was destroying his country and war was necessary to remove him from power. This is coming from a man who lived there, went through all of Saddam's shit.
Also, I was watching a special with Barbra Walters, where she had several women from Baghdad that had come to the US in the last few years, each of them stating how horrible Saddam was. Each women also stated that their families in Iraq were willing to take in any American troop into their homes, and they were all cooking for the Coalition forces.

So if you think peace is a solution to all of this in this situation, well 'm glad you arent our President.

even if you are anti-war, the least you all can do is show support for our troops that are over there. they didnt make the decision to go to war, but they follow orders. they need the military to be successful and get money etc....

i went on to the al-jazeera website, and they had pictures of the captured US soldiers on there (i dont think they are there anymore). apparently, many of them have been executed. the look that i saw on these soldiers was one of terror and impending doom. it was almost pathetic, and it sickened me. i have support for these people who fight for this sacred country that we all take for granted. they put the lives on the line and you owe your lives to them...all of you.

agreed....i think this could and should have been resolved back when bush sr was in office....u dont have to agree w/ the war or support the wary.........but if nothing else support the hero's over there ....... the troops that put their lives on the line for our safety and security each and every day......its because of them that we have the freedom to be able to discuss this particular issue amongst ourselves w/ out the fear of behing drug to the streats and beaten or worse...killed....anyways...im done here......
