update:
So yeah, I drove my friend to the police department today... He goes in and talks to an officer and fills out some police reports. The officer pretty much tells him that all the evidence points at him. The witnesses at the scene told the officer a description that matches my friends'. But of course, I know it wasn't him because he was sittin in my car with me when his car was wrecked... Since I was sittin outside the police station waitin on him, he waves me to come inside. So the officer asks me "Where were you last night when he got called?" "We were sitting at the drive in at Sonic." At that point the officer turns to my friend and says "That boy right there is all you got. He's your lifeline..."

He gave my friend the name of the guy whose truck the thief jumped into after the truck was wrecked. Funny thing is that the person whose truck was the getaway car lives 3 doors down from me... and that's all we know so far...

Honestly, take this from me, i live with a lawyer.

Cops are only out to **** people over who are your age.

They will do everything they can to **** you over. You are weak to them. People your age never know their rights and will take whatever they give you. You're easy to push around.

NEVER give a statment without a lawyer, no matter how innocent you are, and how bad you'll think you'll look.

NEVER ADMIT ANYTHING no matter if you did it or not

Hire the best laywer, even if it will cost you more and you didn't do shit.

Remember, that the most expensive lawsuit is more then the cheapest spot on your record.

NEVER say anthing, for you or anyone else, be silent, even if it means you're getting arrested.

Always if you're pulled over, refuse to give up any rights, that means searche etc. etc. just ask if you're being held for any reason and when you can leave.

Never let the cop know what you plan to do. Simply say you know your rights and be QUIET. Dont piss them off, they're simply doing their job, remember they deal with dickheads all their life (most them your age) and are simply trying to cut the bullshit (same as you) and get things done easiest (same as you) just be as nice as possible. Neither of you wants to be in the position you want to be right now.

Keep your back straight.

If you are drunk and get pulled over, ALWAYS BLOW. If you're over the limit, you can challenge it. If you're sober and refuse to blow, you still lost your licence. Really not worth it.

Just remember, the cops are just trying to do their job and move on. Sure some cops are dicks, but 99% of the people they pull over for honest to god crimes are as well. You'd be pissed off too. These people work for so much and get paid for jack shit. Respect the first person you'll call in an emergency.
