No, as a citizen of this country, it is not only my RIGHT, but my DUTY as an American to speak out against an oppressive regime. Our nation was built on the idea that an unresponsive, poorly representing government should be OVERTHROWN. To shut my mouth and just go along with bush because hes "my president" is exactly opposite of what being an American is. Whats wrong with this country is that people like you dont get involved and we end up with this iraq debacle.

I'm going to have to back Bush on this one. I know that he may not ALWAYS do the right thing, and that hes made mistakes in the past but who hasnt? I think hes doing his best and I dont think hes just trying to make his "oil buddys" rich. The fact is that even if you dont agree with everything he says or does, you shouldnt go talking shit about him to everyone, all of that is exactly what is making our country fall apart right now. If he didnt wanna help this country, then he wouldnt have ran for pres. Jefferson, i guess i might add he was a founding father, said it was the peoples' duty to rise against a government that doesnt represent the people. He even stated that a revolution every 20 years was healthy for the state. Now I might not agree with all that and others from his day may of not either but it was a prevailing idea during the time our country was founded. I agree that you cannot just support the president just because hes the president. That would ruin the whole system of checks and balances. Current politics is so closely measured by popularity raitings that politicians try improve their percentage rather than do whats right for the country. My personnal belief is that yes, the current amdinistration lied, or turned a cold shoulder on information that was contradictory to a War response to the situation. I rather believe that Dick Clark fellow and how he was saying how the adminstration was always looking for a reason to go to war. Why i believe him? He was the only man, or at least the first man to TRULY apologize to the american people and the trade tower victims families' that yes He and his superiors screwed up. I think that most of the people in this country would rather drive their huge SUV's and have some American flag stickers on the bumpers and think they are supporting our men fighting in Iraq. I think you dont have to support the president, and since he has been part of so many fishy situations i would think its healthy to take a second glance at what he does. The people you HAVE to support is the men and women that are over seas. I have a couple of family members in Iraq right now and once they come home, the government will do its very minimum to help them get back on track.

and to point out, why do islamic "fanatics" think the way they do? Why do palestinians hate israel? Well way back in the days around WWII and after, we, the USA meddled in their affairs, and took sides when it was none of our business. We support israel, which IMO, terrorizes palastine and the palastinian response is only natural. Remember, after WWII israel was formed out of islamic stats, including palestine. Israel did not exist for hundreds of years, and then to tell people that, oh millions of people are going to live in your area you need to make way for them. All these events you can relate to american history, check out how we handled them...

You know we (I) had this same exact debate 2-3 years ago (whenever the war started) all the way up through the Kerry election on this forum. What I find is ironic is that when I argued against the war almost everyone else on this forum was for it. So now that things aren't going quite so well people come on here and blast the President. F U and your pusssy comments now. When the war started and the election was going on where were you? When it came time to vote against this prick, did you? It's easy to criticize the President now and say geez we shouldn't have done that. But you asswholes weren't around when it came time to actually make a differnence. After the election I actually stopped caring and become much less passionate about this isssue because my generation didn't "Rock the vote" or didn't "vote or die", they stayed at home and watched South Park. So before you start spewing anti-war comments on here, maybe you should man up and realize what you could have done.

This war was a big mistake, but lots of good will come out of it in 20 years.

so me being 18 automatically makes me ignorant of what goes around me in the world? Age, which would seem to me, only changes how you can percieve certain issues. usually, the younger you are the more liberal and then as you age in the years you are more conservative. 9-11??? Anyone remember that we were attacked?

Iraq...Bush F'd up IMO...and I did vote for him...twice. The fact is if we pull out now, we leave the country in shambles for the next dictator to force his way in through violence. Just like Afganastan with the taliban and al qiada...do some research on the subject.

His message brings up a few sore spots in our side of the world...that is what his message was meant to do. To me it just riles me up even more...HE KILLED thousands of people on 9-11...

This is Bush's last term. We need to watch the next candidates to see what will be done on the subject.
