looking for some info on the overall SQ of this sub.?? or are they no good for this.. just excellent at making a big noise, one has come up pretty cheap & its appealing b/c recone kits are widely available in the UK.

how easy is it to recone one of these subs.??, is it a pretty straight forward process.??

also i have a mutant MT1500.1 (1500wrms @ 1ohm), now this amp has twin connector blocks for 2 subs (still 1 channel), what would the amp end up showing the sub if i wired each 2ohm coil to each of these connectors... the amp will do 1000wrms @ 2ohm, so would it send 500wrms to each coil..??

right....... i dont think im really looking for SPL, but then i dont know too much about the differences.

i will be running the sub on a LPF set to about 40hz so i wont be getting any high frequencies through it anyway, as i have comps throughout the car .... so would it still serve my purposes.??

SPL is pure loudness, SQ is quality reproduction of the track

Well it's only good for SPL, which is "overbearing" bass (drowning out the music), SQ sounds more pleasant and you can hear the difference (tight bass, etc). If you want "pleasant" sounding bass, this is not the sub to get.

but will it sound like a complete mess @ 1000wrms compared to say a Lanzar Opti drive .??

Maybe someone who knows Lanzar products can tell you, but I don't know/ever used their products so I couldn't tell you, but the HCCA is built for shaking your car apart if that's what you want.

i guess (as much as i dont like to admit it, b/c its a thing of beauty) its not really gonna compliment the rest of the speakers i have in the car, & im certainly not into competitions or DB dragging

Yea - if you got the HCCA for SQ, you would be verrrrryyy disappointed as it is meant for pure spl.
