Hello,Could someone tell me if I could bridge an Orion 4004 amplifier to run a set of Phoneix Gold RSd 6.5 component speakers?..or would I just be asking for trouble.

Why bridge and run passive when you can run active?

I'm from way back in the 8-track days.I have looked on here about active but wouldnt have a clue how to do it right.

It's in a car I purchased for my Grandson...we installed everything together but then he read that rear speakers are not used often anymore.So now we have a 4 channel amp with 2 fee channels.

Use the crossovers on the amplifier, front channels powering the tweeters say from approx 1000 hz up, and the mid's on the rear channels at approx 1200hz down.

going active with that amp would only give each channel 50 watts and thats not enough for the rsd's....may work tho

It is plenty of power for mids and tweets. This notion that all speakers must be powered at or over their rms is getting silly. There are loads of tweeters that are not meant to even take 35 watts let alone 50. To add to that the Orion's tend to be under ratted by a little. Active is a little more work and harder to dial in, but the end result is superior.
