wha were the settings on the orion amp, when tested?

Both amps gains set with dmm to ensure no clipping.....

Lpf was set from deck @80hz Subsonic filters on both amps were set to lowest setting (IE: playing a 50hz test tone so not concerned about subsonic filter)

Bass boost on the exile is set to 0db (cant adjust bass boost on exile without remote bass level control dont have) i never use bass boost anyway...

Intelli Q (orion's bass boost) again 0

Founder and one of the chief designers for Orion died in '94. Company started downhill from there and fell off the clif when DEI bought them.

Original Phoenix Gold engineers start new company called Exile Car audio.

Wonder where my money would be going if I was buying new amps...

Why is it that whenever the Orion is outdone by another amp, certain people are so quick to jump to its defenses?

"What were the settings at on the Orion?" Like Sblazer is just looking for some reason that his precious Orion was plain out beat.

it is a proven amplifer and many people love it

tru that hell bigbassman gianed some tenths( not sure how much) by playing with the settings on his 20.1

so everything matters when the difference is so small

I agree its a awsome amp... but there is other stuff out that is just as good....... its always nice to find new stuff to play with:yumyum:

This weekend ill be able to gets some testing at .5 soon as i get the subs in on friday i will do both the exile and orion and play around more with both amps settings and hopefully ill have my clamp meter back from work..... right now im debating on smashing this xa3000d.....
