anyone have expierience with these amps? i just picked one up at a yard sale for 25 dollars .. i know the older orion amplifiers were amazing .... but i have no expierience with them ..
Great amp capable of tremendous power if your electrical system is up to the task. If it is the first generation you will need a 400BDG bridging module to run it in mono. The second generation model had a mono and eq button on the input side of the amplifier.
Great amp to run mids and highs with as well. Very clean sounding.
It is officially only 2 ohm stable mono, but you can drop it to 1 ohm just fan cool it because it is going to get hot.
Load stability depends on the generation of the amp. The first and second gen were indeed only advertiesed as 1 ohm stereo/two ohm mono stable but would run lower. The 3rd gen on were advertised to 1/2 ohm stereo, 1 ohm mono. If you have a pic I can tell you what gen it is.
Excellent amps. I have a gen 5 250, a gen 3 2100 and 3 gen 3 225s that I will never get rid of.
I had a few 275r amps and loved them. Keep your voltage up if you run them low. They are current hogs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
