so the time has come to get a bigger amp. im going with the AQ1200D and it will be powering a 15"L7 in a box thats around 5.5-6cf tuned to 35hz,

When i set the gain i was going to use sqr of 1000 (since its dual 2 wired to 1 ohm) which is 31.6.

My question is with a box this big should set the gain a little lower?

and ive head a good rule of thumb for subsonic filters is 75% ex: with a box tuned to 35 does 27hz sound right for the ssf?

You will be fine. I've thrown 1200 watts at a CVX no problem.
good to know. im ordering it tomorow and wont have money for another sub right away if i learn the hard way

You'll be fine....theirs a guy running around here with 2 15" CVX's in a cadillac deville, with 1 Kicker 1500.1 on each sub and no problems...

My friend has a pair of the AQ 1200D's strapped to a pair of AQ SDC 2.5's and its downright nasty with gains at 1/2...The amps put out some power...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif Just dont run full tilt and you'll be good...

Go for it and let us know how it does. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
