one voice coil out

Easiest way to test is just put power to one voice coil, if it still plays at all switch the wires to the other voice coil. If it still plays obviously neither one is blown.

If you have a digital multimeter put it to resistance mode and measure between each voice coil. Check that they're both about the same value.

hehe ^ yes that would be a good idea. If you're measuring it with a DMM you should have it unplugged from the amp anyways though.

Shockingly, most people dont have dmms. If you're careful when only powering with one voice coil (you only need it loud enough to begin to make sound) then its just as safe and easy as using a multimeter, since you need to disconnect the sub to measure that way as well.

ok....i know this will sould dumb but the way i tell if im have the same vc is like it shows im my mannual for wiring in a series right

the kicker man. shows the top + and the - to the left if your looking at the magnet....so i would conect my power to just that vc right...then to the other one seperate....sorry for the dumb *** question..just dont want to blow my sub
