One RCA input bad on amplifier

I have a mono alpine amplifier with only one set of rca inputs. I noticed one of the inputs on my amp was not getting signal. The other one however works fine and my sub does work. What i'm wondering is if the absence of the signal from that one rca will decrease the wattage output from the amp to my sub? any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks.
