one 15 or two

Why would a wall affect power handling?
a wall is generally huge...with huge port. i don't know if i'd put rlp's in a wall w/ that much power.

but either way...i'm not running the rlp's any more.

i'm running a pair of soundstream DB extremes.

Yes but the guy is talking about you simply walling off the enclosure you already have. Doing this would not affect the subs' power handling in any way. Also, if that is the reasoning, it should be noted not to run over a certain amount of wattage to them in large vented boxes with large ports, not mentioning a wall, as whether or not a wall is involved is irrelevant.

yea man if you just do a wall right where the sub is now, you would decrease your cabin volume by the volume of your (trunk?) rear section of your car, and you'd probably get a spl increase.

just speaking out of what i think is true...

Im sure he knows that. The problem, as he stated, concerns which class he would be in if he built it into a wall.

if he walls it off though his class changes to one of 3 classes. all of which 160db+ is the going rate unless its street max then 160 is the record. big step up in class where the near toppers will be 10 db louder more than likely..at least from a competitive standpoint

like i said i don't wanna do a full wall unless i go all out...for that very reason. i mean ya it'd be cool, but if i wanted to compete at all id be screwed. what size do you think i should do the box? i'm thinking around 5ft w/ as much port as i can shove in it;) i still want it do be a daily driver so i was thinking around 40Hz or so?

i would tune high for shits and giggles. i would also not do a "standard ported box"
elaborate on the "standard ported"

and dlvry i was also thinking 1 15 would give me more room to do something radical //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif i just didn't know if it would nesicarily be louder?

i was looking around and soundstream rec. 4ft @ 45Hz a piece for these subs.

would i be better off w/ a smaller box, say 5ft, w/ alot of port...or a bigger box, say 7.5ft, w/ not as much port?

as long as the woofer doesnt pop smaller box more port works. i would look into transffer type boxxes though if you went into street c the extra 3-6 db gained would be monumental. you could even do a horn with a high broad range tune but that would be so big it would probably quallify as a wall lol

what are transffer type boxxes?
