Oldschool Alpine Headunits..

I just dont want a active unit because I just aint good at tuning all the variable slopes etc would rather just have a basic geq

all the active units ive owned give you the option to turn the capability on or off. so even if you went with an active unit you could decide not to take advantage of that.

Did not know that thanks for informing me.. I currently have the cD7000 in girls car and cant adjust it for shit! lol .. I gave her my 9886 but i want a nice unit for myself..

yeah, my 9855 had a switch on the outside casing that you flipped. it said something to the effect of 2way vs 3 way active, or something similar i believe.

Maybe I should just buy another 9886. I like the unit but always liked the oldschool alpines I just dont want to end up with somthing i cant adjust.. that 9855 looks like a nice unit too.

I gave this HU to a friend of mine:

Too bad it was picky with burned CDs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Very nice. I have the one pictured above //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif and another parts unit in my storage room.

Im going in the opposite direction from the OP, Im adding active XO's and DSP.

I already owned the 7941, and I ran across a deal on a brand new Alpine Ai-Net PRA-H400 DSP unit that I couldnt pass up, so now I have full time correction and 18/24db active crossovers.

What the heck, it ends up cheaper than a new active HU.
