I called and talked to the guys and man they got some good prices and there freindly as hell. Im looking at the re 8'' for 56 shipped se 10'' for 165 shipped se 12'' 185 shipped and xxx 10'' 395 shipped or xxx 12'' for 465 shipped. I here the xxx's are good for sq and the guy said the other two subs are as well. I remember everyone saying that the re 8''s are the shit. Right now I think I would like to go with alot of 8''s or a couple se's. Whats my best option for sq and a sub that will wang hard. I want to be able to wire them at 1 ohm. I tried seeing how many 8's I could go with to get to 1 ohm but rockford wire instructions only goes to six. I was thinking like 5 or 6 8's or 2 se's. Someone please help me out so I can have a kick *** system. Im using a hi fonics amp. I will get whatever amp is needed to power them right. Thanks in advance.

Also if anyone in Indiana is close to the 500 track, north side or ss of indy that can help me build a box please let me know. I might not have someone to help me now and I dont have the tools or skills to do it.

Plus I heard everyone liked the se's and re's.

If I go with the 8's is ported the way to go?
If you go with the 8's, then yes...but I would go with the SE's instead, probably //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Or the XXX if that's in your budget range.

Whats the advantages of the se's. I know they get louder. Is there good sound quality to them? I take it a sealed box is the way to go for the se's? I dont think I want to spend the money on the xxx's until I see the quality and how well I like them. If there good I can always pass them to the g/f so she has a bangin system? If I got the se's and couldn't find anyone to help me build a box would they still sound good in a cheap flea market box?

You have your products confused. Seriously, do some searching on the different drivers of Resonant Engineering.

RE - entry-level

SE - one step above, SQ-oriented

SX - a little better than SE, SPL-oriented

XXX - top-of-the-line RE, SQL-oriented

correct me if i'm wrong.

I dont see how I have things confused. When I was on here about 6 months ago everyone could say nothing but good things about the re 8's and se's. Im not expecting to have the best system but I heard these subs are far better then most subs on the market. I asked the tech at re and he said that the re's or se's would be a good choice for entry level for decent sq.

Unless you go with 8 re 8's a single xxx with bash it in terms of spl and sq.

Lets just say there were installed by the same person.. either for optimum spl or optimum sq..

XXX has more potential unless u go with a bunch of 8's. plus you wont reach the lower freq.s with the eights. The eights would be a hell lot more punchy.

I think you should ditch the 8's. Try goin with 2 se 12's or 15's. but XBl technology, better potential driver, id have tp say XXX. That my opinion any ways. hope this helps.

Ok I think I might go with one xxx 12. The guy told me that they are 1600 rms Which hifonics amp would be better? tx1505d which is 1500 x 1 or bx1605d which is 1600 x 1. Its best to pair the sub and amp wattage as close as possible right? Also if I cant get someone to help me build a box will this sub still wang hard and sound good in a cheap ported flea market box?

this next weekend ima build my box for 8x re8s and i'll tell you how they sound, but you'd have to wait. the first box i build is gonna be sealed cuz i have enough spare mdf to build it and i can put my truck seat all the way back again.
