but you still havent answered the question. you could have made this thread with no vid of your own. but yet like the rest of us you felt the need to show off your equipment. and there is nothing wrong with that.
so really people make vids to show off there stuff and how much work and time they have put into it. so we watch them in apperication and to see what we could tell/help to improve there set-up

its the same reason why when you see someone bumping in a parking lot you go up and check it out.

Well it's like this, I travel with a digicam and just popped the trunk and shot it, I knew I was going to ask this question because I've been wondering for some time now. I figured a video was the thing to do to explain the topic, if I posted a link to someone else's video you might think it was mine. Plus if there really is anything you can tell by looking at a video, I would know, since that's my car.

Has anyone actually bought a subwoofer based on one of these videos???

i agree i've been known to watch the history channel at times. Honestly the only t.v. i really watch is TLC and The Discovery Channel. It was just the first channel that came to mind..

There is an extrodinairely HUGE amount of really really bad filmed videos on Realm of Excursion. Some of the people shouldnt even be allowed to use a camera.

I believe your talking about realm of excursion. Key word excursion. The video shows the amount of excursion the sub has. Which leads to how much air the sub is moving. Which leads to how the sub is felt and or heard. Granted there are some high excursion woofers out there that sound like total crap but i bet they are loud.

Excursion isnt everything. Though linear displacement is a good thing, it is hardly the only determineing factor in ported setups or how loud a sub gets.

Plain and simple, people like to watch things move. Why whatch a runner doing a 400m dash, why watch a car rung the 1/4 mile?

I like to see flex/trick vids, those are the best. Watching 1:30 of a sub moving in and out is boring.

I kinda feel this way. it's cool to see a sub excursion at like two inches, but just watching it flap is kinda lame.

most of the videos on ROE are best said, LAME. yea a sub moves in and out, show's excursion, it'll do the same thing every time till you blow it, burn it, stab it, crush it...etc etc. i'd rather see a video capturing things moving on the vehicle itself, or inanimate objects around the vehicle being moved, like a trophy on the car next to you that doesn't have a system. or something bouncing around on the dash. i see where you are coming from with the whole "wow it moves in and out" idea though.
