Oink Busted????

if the riaa comes after you, its really just better to cough up the $3,000 and call it a day.
They have hundreds of lawyers and millions of dollars and the ability to purchase laws written in their favor.

Stealing music just isn't worth it.
Wal-Mart is larger than the RIAA and they aren't allowed to prosecute all theft. And neither will the RIAA.

NONE of these download sites are safe guy, I'm surprised everyone didn't know that already. If they bag the server... they have your information. They get you MORE for sharing than for downloading... sounds like with this Oink service you pretty much had to upload (ratio) to get anything. Is that correct?
BMG Music FTW... I pay like 5-7 dollars shipped per CD averaged out. Not worth the risk to download when it's so cheap, especially with these guys out to bust people so hard these day!
Where do you get CDs for 5-7 bucks?

Not going to lie... I would go Rambo on their ***** and then leave the country... I don't like this country anyway...

They will be limited by the amount of lawsuits they can do.
They cannot sue everyone.

Wal-Mart faced this issue when dealing with theft. They are not allowed in many cities to prosecute all shoplifters due to court injunctions
the amount of lawsuits they actually have to file will be low, because most people will see how pointless it really is and just cough up the dough.

they wont have to, all they have to do is threaten.

Your case involves actual court cases for every incident.

The RIAA has different, more effective, tactics.

I would also think that you are referring to some sort of criminal proceedings and the RIAA is going after people in civil court.

I'm not sure, but i would think that the laws might be different.

I am just saying...they cannot sue everyone.

I don't think they have the cash to finance such an adventure....

They have to pay the lawyers, think of how many that will try to stand up to the RIAA for a chance at fame. I am sure the Indian lady was represented pro bono.

Indeed... They would block up the courts from now until 2020...

the rhythm walked up in his Bruno Magli shoes and cut that bishes hope like a white woman's throat.

Yes, WalMart is going after criminal charges.

Again, they cannot sue everyone, they just don't have the cash and time to finance such an operation. There are several logisitical problems there. The court system wouldn't allow it due to backlog.

BMG Music Service man... you get a crapload of "free" ones when you sign up (2.99 shipping each CD). Once you order a few here and there you keep getting more "free" (again, 2.99 shipping) and the average cost ends up being 5-7 dollars per CD, shipped.

They have the monthly "featured selection" which you can decline (or they will send it)... sometimes I take it and sell it on e-bay if it's total crap as often times you earn 2-3 more "free" selections just by taking it!

aapl sells drm stripped songs for .99
Only 1 or 2 good songs on a CD anyway
Amazon sells DRM free music for like $5-9 an album; cheaper than the CD cost in stores.

I have finally started to purchase music downloads because there is a discount.

Paying .99 cents a song makes no sense if you want the whole album, its just as much, if not more than buying the CD.

Again, they wont have to sue everyone. It cost nothing to send out form letters.

If people cough up the $3k because they are afraid, that is their issue.
Its not too hard to target the ones with enough money to actually pay the settlement once you have an address.
