ohms

ok, i have a dual 3.2ohm voice coil in my eclipse sw8152 sub. and most of the amps i come accross are stable to 2 ohms, so if i wire my sub in parallel for a 1.6 load, do you think the amp will handle that ok, or should i get one that is stable to 1 ohm

also im considering the clarion dpx1800, any opinions?

They don't measure any type of impedance. They measure DC resistance. Impedance is going to be higher than the Re. What you have is pretty typical Re for a nominal 4 ohm coil. If the guy at the stereo shop doesn't know the difference, I don't think I'd pay much attention to anything else he has to say.
