Oh Noes!!

The hammer on the starter does work. I had a starter that was going bad and I limped with that for a while -- it would catch and then not be a problem for awhile.

Just don't ride that too long. My starter eventually got stuck and burned up. Ironically, I had secheduled to have it repaired the next day.

You may be able to get an auto electrical ploace to rework it and put it back on for less than you would buy a new one from Auto whatever.

front wheel drive car iirc it's on the backside of the engine so it'll be a ***** to get at.
Hmm true....

The 3 vehicles i have changed them on have been rear wheel drive or 4 wheel drive...

The Vic was the worst because of the plastic molding and frame rails, but it still wasn't too bad....

under a car i can imagine.. i had to replace the engine on moms jeep a couple months ago.. tear the block down add everything to the new block. I had to put some washers behind the bolts in the starter cuz the groove depths were different. It will only be 2 bolts and prolly 3 wires. If u had a garage i would say jackstands but i dont think u do?

i do but there is no room to fit a car and it isn't heated anyways. the ground is froze so it's not like jackstands will sink in the ground outside //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

If they do put some plywood or somethin under them... u might even want a piece to lay on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You wouldn't even need the potato... It will start with out one! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
Just roll it down a hill....
STFU! I had to do that with my acura for a month or two in the hot *** louisiana weather till I had the time to change the starter. Except I had to do it in a much more confined area... a school parking lot. You wouldnt believe how hard it was to get the car going fast enough to drop the clutch and start it in such an area...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

ground is harder then my boner, not gonna sink
yep, its gonna sink! better grab the wood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif jk

haha, i am glad my parents have a car repair shop because

1, they have a lift because working under a car on jackstands blows.

2, i only have to pay their costs for parts and no labor FTW.

although this doesnt help you but it sure helps me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
