I don't see how this adds greenhouse gases... i can see how it might slightly lower temperatures but greenhouse gases come from combustion... not hot shingles

Were they saying to rip off your shingles and put on a new roof? I just kinda skimmed it. I was thinkin, wouldnt it be better in areas where you have a cold climate to have black houses? Draw the sun to your house to use it for heat? Seems more logical to me as alot of people use gas or fuel oil for heating.

No, I think when it comes time to replace, they are wanting you to replace with a new style roof. I think this still may be more expensive.
