check ebay for World of warcraft or other games like that. People make money off of games like that.

Magic: The Gathering (customizable card game ~ think Yu Gi Oh or the like) has an online-only version.

You still have to buy cards and whatnot just like if you were playing in the kitchen with a group of folks using real, physical cards and all - and some of them, like their physical counterparts, sell on eBay for incredible prices considering all you're buying is some digital information stored on a server somewhere.

I used to play MTG pretty hardcore and invested a bunch of money into it once upon a time - but the idea of doing so for the cyber-version of it seemed more than a bit ludicrous to me...

Agreed and all my cards from unlimited - urzas saga are boxed and haven't been touched in at least 7 years.

Why do some people spend ungodly amounts on alcohol? Why do children spend good money on ugly body kits and wings? Why do people a lot of money to annoy the neighborhood by rattling knick knacks off their wall when they drive by?

It entertains them. It's obviously not your cup of tea, but everyone has a different poison. Doesn't make it any less valid than the next persons hobby just because you don't understand it.

Silver Bullet (bunny) did tell the admins everyone he knew and caught cheating himself. He was being two faced. Helping the admins catch the cheaters while cheating himself.

First let me give everyone a little background info. Ruckus, myself, jntar, Ramos, Dbfan, Hitman and a few others on this site played a text based game similar to Mafiabattle called ruletheseas.
... so you had more than 1 spy in our gang, this one was with us up to the end, which would explain how the duped items got into our vault, after LoJ / Ruckus was banned and out of our gang for a month. ...

We were all in the same gang to begin with. From playing Mafiabattle I figured out how to cheat (dupe items) and fly under the radar doing so (another words not get caught).

... considering that the boys who started RtS, supposedly stole the codes from MB, i am loving the irony of it all. ...

So anyhow, we were a happy gang at first. We got to the top very quickly, I secured the best account in the game. So I decided to stay under the radar that I would only dupe occasionally, so that we wouldn't have every member in our gang a top account. It did not matter to me who had the best account, as long as it was in our gang, but since I spent the most time online and money was being sent through my account it was best that I have the top account by default.

... we knew you were cheating, we just did not know how, and since so much money was being poured into the game, by you, admin was not going to question the golden goose ... Good startagy, use their weakness against them. ...

So after I started limiting the supply, Ruckus apparently got pissed and made a second account (Lion of Judah). He went off on his own and did his own duping.

Well he came to us and said "DoP" is recruiting me (Dop had the closest ranked members to us) and I said fine, doesn't hurt to have a spy in a gang so go ahead.

... DoP [a legit gang] consisted of the best players in the game, recruiting LoJ, was a natural occurance ...

Well it wasn't long before I noticed Ruckus changed up his training method and it seemed like he was trying to catch me to be able to beat me. Then I started getting messages saying how he was bragging about how he was going to catch up to us. So I had this ****er investigated and found out not only was he trying to beat me, he was supplying DoP with items to do the same.

... Nothing wrong with that, he was just leveling the playing field. Guess he grew a concious and a *set*, because he really made an effort to help the gang out. See, we were playing fairly, and legitimately, guess that concept eludes you ...

I brought this to Ruckus attention and my demand was he give us access to their forum to let us see for ourselves that he is telling the truth and hasn't flipped on us. So finally about a week later he gives us access. We find that the number of posts on everyone's account is much greater than the number of posts showing. So we determine there are hidden sections of the forum. We are fairly certain he is a spy now. Then I get info that there is a spy in our gang. I had already kicked his other account out of our gang, but this information was enough to make the connection, that yes, ruckus has betrayed us.

... nope, no secret chambers, just deleted old threads that we did not care to keep around. Post log did not change when threads were deleted. ...

So anyhow, lets back up to the cheating. Before we started this gang, I explained to ruckus and others how to cheat and virtually have the cheating be undetectable unless you are specifically looking at the account (which we never use our main account to cheat with). I informed everyone that you never dupe by transferring from one account to another. Well Ruckus ends up getting his main account banned, and I check the forum and see what was going on. Sure enough, he had been sending boat loads of shit to his account through 2nd account transfers. So that was the end of Ruckus, or so I thought.

Today I login and the admin contacts me on AIM and tells me he's banning the entire gang for cheating, he has downloaded a copy of our entire forum. So I start thinking of who in the hell could have told. Ruckus has been out of the game for over a month, but he is a snitch, so I wouldn't put it past him. Then I start looking at the evidence, well it appears to me he got access by most likely getting one of our pw's from when we used his forum for gang business, and got into our gang.

... good for him, your petty games caused great heartache. A reputable gang was obliterated due to no fault of their own. We trusted and we got shafted. Naw, i don't feel too bad, you're not sorry for what you did, you're just sorry for getting caught. ...

He probably sat in a corner and cried about all the shit we said about him, because yes, he was a dumbass. So anyhow, I'm not entirely sure it was him, but Ruckus, I was watching your every move. You ****ed up and it is pitiful if you took the entire gang down for your stupidity. Real ****ing sad, but it didn't surprise me, we kinda figured this day was coming. Just surprised it was later rather than sooner.

The discussion is here because SB put it here and links have been passed around. Some of us innocent people would like to know why our invested money was taken away. Kind of like if someone ripped the stereo out of your car claiming you didn't pay for it. Especially if you did pay for the stereo, can prove you paid for the stereo, you'd be pretty upset. Now if somebody told you who ripped the stereo out of your car you'd wanna confront them, which is why I'm here.

I've lost at least $210 to this liar, and other innocent people lost a lot more. I want what I paid for returned to me, or my money.

what I wanna know is who all is mad at "ruckus"(for cheating/snitching on a cheater) and who is mad at "concerned"(for admitting to cheating the game).

I would imagine more people are pissed at Concerned for cheating the game and people losing money.

I figured out that the few members here who played the game will be mad at ruckus for snitching . that is a form of scamming because real money was involved. This wasnt for play play.
