They are heavily underrated as far as power handling is concerned. As far as I know, and I could very well be wrong, they have the same build house as dd woofers do. As far as the price is concerned, youre guess is as good as mine. I cant think of a woofer this potent that is in the same price range brand new..

I had a 500.1 on 1 12" daily, itll take a good bit more than 1000 daily

Get one of their 2200s or 3500s if ya feeling frisky....really good prices

fyi- to the op- audioque is owned by the owner of dd's father. so if you think dd has good quality control, i expect you wont be dissapointed in the aq's!

As someone who's heard and worked with both of your choices, I owned two 9917s and would pick them any day for music OR SPL.

I had a HDC310 a while ago (with alum coils) burped it off my saz-1500 @ 1ohm and it took it like a champ. Wanged hard as hell too. If you were to do a pair of the 18's with a 2200 to each, that would be sick.

the 9917 wont be that great for music. DD is awsome but that sub is designed to just get loud and nasty
