So I think through some testing of like 10,000rms+ Jacob and Brandon started cracking the triple joint, so needed to recone. We decided to "try" and blow it up. We free aired the sub hooked up to a 1500D at .5 ohm wide open, with HU wide open. Playing a song that dipped into the 20's. We did that for about 5 minutes non-stop...wouldnt blow. Then proceeded to play a straight 20hz test tone. Still wouldnt blow until finally Brandon flipped it upside down on the test bench...to keep the coil from moving. Well then the sub just started hoping around on the test bench. Finally put it on the floor and stood on it. This whole event lasted around 20-30 mins of NON STOP ABUSE.

I was pretty impressed:dontknow:

Shitty vid from crackberry, didnt have the camera.

well that explains it you used it ,j/k...

the puddle around the spider cracked? i have seen these crack on subs and it still wont come apart. esp the spider used on the ns isnt going to tare, lol.

The video was shot after quite a bit of lead-up abuse -- we tore the spun lace off the former so the coil was able to move up and down free from the triple joint glue.

With the new triple joint rings it's really almost impossible to break the joint -- this one we built before we had the rings. All NS v.2 will have two of them standard... one below spider and one above the cone. Have had some Team guys testing this for a while -- they hold up to just about anything.

Looks badass if it could take that much power and not bottom out. Or was that the terrible sound i was hearing? Id be all over some 15" nightshades if i could afford them.
Hey Brad - while you are here, let me know when you guys can pick up those 18s or if you want me to ship them. I had emailed you a while back but haven't heard which way you wanted to go.

PS: The coil cannot bottom out... the horrible sound was the coil sliding around as it was no longer glued to the former.
