i have never messed with power supplys on a computer...but been thinking about upgrading....what do i need to look for when doing so?

amount of power connectors youll need for your devices.. if you need 20 or 24 pin connector for your mobo. how many things are you gonna be running i.e. fans, hard drives, other devices. get something around 400w and you should be set.

yeah depending on ur setup, between 350 and 500ish is PLENTYYYY

if you have like dual video cards and like 6 hard drives RAIDed plus a lot of fans, ram, beast *** processor, and are planning on doing something heavy duty (ie video editing) you might wanna get something BIG around 600W+.

but if you are like 98% of people and have a regular old computer, a good 400w will do you fine.

like the above said, you need to make sure the pins match

the nicer PSUs come with the pre-sleeved cables which help with cable management
