Hello All!

First and foremost..I have used the search function, and already have a select list of what I should get. So don't bash me! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I have finally signed up to become a member of this great community. I received a system from my mom last year for my birthday. Its just a regular Audiobahn 12" powered by an Audiobahn 400w amp (don't know the model names of each) in a sealed box.

I have been looking to upgrade ever since I started working, and i'm planning on saving up this entire summer to upgrade when my birthday comes.

I basically took a sub that basically everybody praised and then tried to find alternative sub(s) that would be the same or near quality.

In this case, I chose the JL 12" w7. I know the w7 is a sensitive subject, and i'm sure as hell not gonna spend that much money on one subwoofer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif That's just me though..

Through my using the search button I finally decided on a couple subs to get.

(1) IDMAX DMAX12D4 V.3 or DMAX12D2 V.3

(1) 12" Stereo Integrity Magnum or 15" Stereo Integrity Magnum

(2) Fi Q's

(2) 12" Adire Brahma (although I heard the new ones fail in comparison to the older models)

I own a 1993 BMW 325i and i'm 18 years old. If anyone from the Bay Area (preferably East Bay) have any of these subs, feel free to contact me because I would really appreciate it if i could hear the subs for myself.

I'll answer some common questions here..

I'm looking into SQL. SPL is cool, but I really want to be able to hear the words instead of just listening to straight up bass.

If necessary, I will amp my speakers.

I don't have the specs of my trunk, but it's pretty small. I'll go take a pic real quick to show you guys.

I listen to rap/hiphop

My budget for sub + amplifier would have to be around $1000-$1200 range (hopefully I don't have to go to the $1200 range)

I would not prefer to deal with ebay and shipping...depending on your guys experience with the listed subs, could you tell me their reliability? I plan on using them as a daily driver sub and i wouldn't want it to blow on me. If I order from anywhere online, they would have to offer me a warrenty.

All in all, I've heard great reviews on the SI Mag. I wouldn't mind getting a 15", but I'm not sure if it will fit in my trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif So as of now, I'm leaning 70% towards the SI mag, and the IDMAX's would come to a close second.

How would these subs compare in quality/sound to the W7?

Sorry for the long post, but I would really like your opinion, because If i'm going to have to spend alot of money on this, I would like to do it the right way and really get the best bang for the buck.

What would you guys take?

EDIT: here are some pics of what i'm working with in my trunk..it's not very spacey

I think i would go with a Mag since there a great mix of moth SPL and SQ. And since your working with 1000 bucks you could pretty much get any amp with it to acomidate it nicely.

Another sub to look at could be a Type X very nice sounding woffer and doesnt need alot of airspace.

i love my tc 1000's, they get really loud and sound really good, and at 149 a pop, you cant go wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i've looked at the SI website...and Low-hz.com..

does Low-hz.com offer a warrenty on their SI subwoofers?
I contacted them about getting a SI mag, but they said the 12's were out of stock until SI's newer version comes out. And the 15's were in limited quantity.

They are authorized though and their SI products come with SI's warranty.

You could try emailing them, but the 15" would be your only possible option for a new mag. But even that may not be available.
