Yea so I bought a Directed Audio 12" sub and an alipine amp, not important, anyways, I reallly dont feel like buyin a deck and I was wondering if it was possible to strip down a wire and make it into an RCA cable from cuttin an extention RCA off or something. Is it impossible? Is it possible but really hard when id have to know every wire and what it does? or is it easy? Its a 96 chevy tahoe btw, most GM shit is the same, but yea someone help me out plz. Thanks.

Line Output Converter...converts the high level output of your stock source unit to the low level signal needed to drive most amplifiers, although some amps (Profile, Aura, Alpine, et al) will accept high level inputs directly.

Google "David Navone Engineering" and your problem should be solved //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So im alright just converting them over to RCA and running a high current into my alpine?

That is the main function of an LOC, friend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It converts the high-level signal from your speaker wires to a low-level signal to be used with RCA interconnects.

In your case, using an OEM head unit for your source, an LOC is exactly what you need. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
