No power to Pioneer GM-x862

We just finished installing and the light won't turn on indicating that the amplifier is on and working. The power cable is connected, ground is not hooked up... and the system control slot on the amp is hooked up to the blue and white wires (system control) on my cd player which is a pioneer deh-p6400.

What could be wrong please help. Thanks.
