no bass on radio?

in my friends car the subs turn off when the radio is on. but it works just fine when he plays a cd. it used to work with the radio but then just stoped one day. any idea why?

Dude i had the same problem with my deck, i found out there was like a second remote wire for the cd player, so i crimped all three together and it worked...lol.

for some reason mine works on radio but is about 10 time less than if i put a cd in.
