If I were to get a plate amplfier for my speakers, how would I hook it up to get a signal from the reciever? I know their is a RCA input for the sub, but that is it.

Also... how much power should be needed for a center channel? Will house 2 mids n 2 tweets.

Plate amps are usually used for subwoofer channels only...some come with built in amplifiers for a pair of speakers (usually for computer speakers) but not many...
Does your reciever not have a built in amp? What kind is it?

Does your receiver not have enough power to run the towers you are building?
The reciever claims 100 per channel @ 8 ohms... The Towers will probally have 2 8s, 2 6.5s, 2 tweets each... I figured 100 wouldn't be enough?

Depends on the efficiency of your drivers, using that many drivers isn't really needed, and it becomes more difficult blending them together unless your going active, in which case its a little easier...
Usually you don't need that kind of power, my towers with full range drivers only need about 15 watts to get moderately loud in a large living room, 10 for a small room...

Keep in mind, once you start building your own speakers, a domino effect will occur. You will love the sound, but find the receiver is now the weak link, so on and so forth...

I don't like using receivers, they serve their purpose, but having everything in one box doesn't seem optimal to me and many others. Pre-amp and amp is acceptable, but i prefer a power amp with a separate pre-amplifier as well...you'll see, its an addiction...

Alright another ?.... I am desiging my towers. Most of the air space int hem will be for the 12s, but should I build a smaller box inside the tower for the 6s?
