New toy

Audiobahn A8000T. I'm will return it and get my money back for a different sub I don't like how it sounds. I can do this within 30 days of the purchase.

Not the best drivers in the world but it will do the job. Better for the money? Yeah, probably, but who cares, it's already bought. Listen to it, refine your tastes or work on box skills. It's far more impressive to be able to utilize a driver to its fullest potential than spend a wad of cash and be loud.

Xmax means = very little for an SPL based driver. Remember that kids.

Take a gander at Digital Designs published Xmax numbers. The lesser of Xmag and Xsus is not the end all and be all of T/S parameters.

From what I hear the xmax will determine more the low end frequencies and its ability to sound good in a sealed box. This somewhat makes sense since most spl drivers that have very little xmax need to be in a ported box in order to be loud or clean. This is just what ive heard over the thousands of threads that ive seen though. I might be wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Since you are using that amp, and the sub is DVC 1 ohm, then you will only be able to wire it to a 2 ohms, because that amp is not .5 ohm stable. So in actuality, you will only be giving the sub around 400w RMS.
