here is what Im looking to do

1/ I want to have a iPod rather than a stereo in my hotrod

2/ so what amp ,speakers, do i require to have my iPod & docking

station to play my sounds through

so iPod + docking station +speakers + amp that's all NO stereo

generally u can get a cable with the 3.5mm headphone jack on one end and a set of rcas on the other. this would be the easiest u would just have to be careful with the amp settings. depending on the docking station u can do the same thin or just run rcas from the docking station to the amp

as Im just a trucker no audio expert

my limit is turning my radio on

well most people on here prolly wont like my suggestion but i recommend

for speakers: memphis pr line they are really efficient and dont need much power

about $120-$150 a set for components less for coaxials

for amp: rockford just came out with a pbr300x4 it normally births around 80 watts a channel which is more than enough for the memphis.

since it is so small like 4inch by 6inch u can actually stick it in a larger pocket in the dash or even the glovebox.

local shop sells it for $220-$230 i believe.

only downside to this amp is it cant be bridge or run below 4ohm trust me i tried and i smoked my amp.

throw in a small 10gauge amp kit shouldnt be mary than 40 bucks and buy the adapter cable. install and enjoy. all for under 400. not to say they dont have better deals this would be something that should be readily available and local audio shops online opens up alot of options.

Amp recomendations really depends on how many speakers you want to run, do you want a subwoofer in the mix, what quality are you looking for, budget....yeah
