To avoid getting the same questions every day about what subs to recommend, and the OP not giving any details before asking the question, how about we make a template for asking the question.

Budget-

SQ or SPL-

Space/Type for enclosure-

New or used-

Power/Amp-

Electrical-

Type of music listened to-

And to avoid having the question asked as much altogether how about anything thread giving more tangible reviews on subs such as...

Sub

Price (New/Used)

Power fed to sub (RMS/Max)

Type of enclosure that it is in (Ported/Vented/Sealed and size)

Sound Quality Score (1-10)

Sound Pressure Level Score (1-10)

Amp used

Type of music typically played

Overall score of value and performance (1-10)

If it is a bad idea then **** it, its at least worth a try to get people to stop asking the same questions and everyone getting mad that newb's always the same questions.

And I realize that all of this is subjective to the listeners ears, but if two or more people own the same subs they can all give their review and it establishes more of a baseline

Not a bad idea in theory....probably dealing with a bit of subjectivity tho
Yeah, I realize that it is subjective, but all of it is subjective when people come on here asking opinions. At least this puts all of the info in one place. Maybe the info above can get stickied and then people go and only put reviews in the sticky thread. For example:

Sub-2 JL W3's

Price (New/Used)-$200-$250 new

Power fed to sub (RMS/Max)-375 RMS each

Type of enclosure that it is in (Ported/Vented/Sealed and size) Sealed/1 ft3 each

Sound Quality Score (1-10)-8

Sound Pressure Level Score (1-10)-3

Amp used-Kicker ZX750.1

Type of music typically played- Mostly Metal/Rock, some country and some hip hop

Overall score of value and performance (1-10)-Value-4 Performance-5

Truf...hmmm

The first half of the idea is ill conceived. How many people do you see making classified ads with no pictures, no use of the template, etc.?
The same thing will happen in these forums.
Unfortunately I know that it will happen with people just not paying attention, but instead of us having to ask the questions each time you just tell them to read the **** sticky and then repost

They won't do it. They'll either ignore your post or get butthurt...noobs only pay attention to what they wanna hear.

Then, just like the ones do in the classifieds, they'll respond with "ya but i just need to no, kicker l3 or jl w0 come on man"

If nothing else if it doesnt help newb's out it can help out the rest of us. I know for me I don't have any friends that are into car audio so the only stuff I really hear is anything that I run myself. It would help me to see like actual scores with some of the variables involved and have everything in one thread that is easy to compare subs against one another. Same thing could be done with speakers as well
