New Scores in!! (Mr.Ps Exploder)

I am gonna have to agree especially with 40hz tuning you should be way higher with 2 18"s off 8k. I got the same explorer pretty much and did 149 with 2 18"s off 3k @ 44hz

You guys are pretty funny.
152 on music is outstanding.
As far as music goes, nearly everyone should be able to hit close to the same score on a song of the right frequency as they do on a burp of the right frequency. The amateur competitors we had last year only lost .1 dB when playing music as opposed to a burp.

What matters is if he played the correct note...

I mean to a normal person who's not into competing and numbers mean nothin to him yeh a 52 is gonna seem crazy to his ear

But I mean when ya figure in 2 18s cone area being more than 4 12s and a good bit of power I'd expect more being me and knowin what its potential is.

And those are good subs, not like just decent subs.

But as long as youre happy with it, doesn't matter one bit what we say

Get some vids up

Thanks everybody- Numbers only mean so much and he drives his around all day every day playing a full range of music. The box was not designed for numbers it just so happens it got 1st place bass racing and scored higher than systems with much more power (again, he had around 6k from those amps)

his original goal was 47s-49s and blew everybody away with a max spl of +150 and getting his rolling 50s bass race sticker

nice setup and congrats on the 1st place win for your friend.although I will say as other said also the #;s should be a bit higher.there are a few members on here with twice less power doing that.that millertime1028 guy is doing a 150.1or someish at 35hz with only 2000watts.

those 2dbs are much harder to gain than say going from 134 to 136 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but yeah for a street beater its loud

i have never done any systems in a 2 dr explorer. but in my 4 dr i did a lot of testing. here are some things i found that are db's

1. move subs as far back as possible on the top of the box. i found this can easily be up 3db deviation.

2. smaller box. my 4 12's sat in 1.1 net a piece. (this was a burp setup). my daily box will be 1.75 net a piece.

3. 4 6'' aeros would work perfectly in your situation

when i started out making boxes i wasnt hitting big numbers in my explorer primarily because of the boxes were way to large. small boxes + lots of power = big numbers

i would also recommend taking your head liner down and reinforcing your front roof brace before it breaks.

roof is already ripped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Current box:
