Project: F350 begins...
Well, i just got back from commercial fishing up in Alaska a few days ago. It turned out to be a great season. So, i figured after making a ton of money and gettin a full ride to college, i would reward myself:
Its an '02 Chevy Avalanche with all the bells and whistles, 57k miles, 5.3L v8, 3.73 gears. I couldnt decide between a chevy silverado or a tahoe, so i tested the middle man and loved it. Sssooo, i bought it.
anyways, for those who dont know, the rear seats fold down, and you can unlock and fold down the wall between the cab and the bed of the truck, making the bed open to the cabin. The plan is to remove this little hatch and build a sub enclosure in the bed of the truck with subs and port blowing into the rear of the seats/cabin area. If all goes as planned, this should leave me with a very hidden system (the tonneau cover/tailgate assemblies all lock) while only using about 1/3 (or whatever 8 cu ft is) of the bed of the truck for the sub enclosure. The biggest issue i think im going to have is being able to seal the enclosure to the cab while also keeping road noise from the bed of the truck down, but i figure it shouldnt be that big of an issue. Double baffle cut to fit the opening along with some silicone/foam or something. I havent put too much thought into how i will seal and deaden it yet.
anyways, besides the sub setup, i'll be using some of my old gear (pioneer premier 780mp, 2 15" type R's) along with some polk MOMO 6.5" comps ran on a kicker KX350.2, 2 rolls of raamat BXT, 6 yards of ensolite, a kinetik2400 in the bed of the truck, HO alt, tons of 1/0, ect ect. I am on the lookout for an amp that can do 2500+RMS at 1 ohm as well. I have to do class registration this weekend for college, but i'll try to get a build log going on monday.
If anyones interested, and if the funds permit, i'll also be doing a K@N intake, exhaust, tinted windows and an alarm system.
oh, and before i start getting flamed, mommy and daddy arent paying for any of this, and yes i also have extra cash put away for college.
