New LP CD

From what I herd so far I don't like MIM but I really like linkin park so I might buy it. It seems to not Rock as hard as their other albums did, its more mello.
Very true. Was surprised on how many slower songs there were than harder songs.

i saw a minute of thier video and it ruined it for me. it's a pacified new wave crap version of anything good they had before. they lack mike shinota (sp?) who was a key element to thier music. the actual MUSIC isnt too bad, but thier older stuff is WAY better IMO. certainly this new image that chester is at the head of seems to target 14 year old high school emo girls than the broad range of fans they had before.

and this is coming from a BIG LP fan who's seen them several times in the past 5 years

"It couldn't be more exciting to giveyou all new music, especially after all the hard work we put into it. This album was

almost a year and a half of experiments, mistakes, inspiration, and careful

craftsmanship. We put everything we had into these songs, and want you to hear

every second of it. I can't wait for you to absorb all the levels of meaning in the

songs, and the layers of music, eventually forming your own ideas about what the

songs mean to you.

At the same time, a leak leaves out some very important parts of this piece of

work. We put months of creative energy into the ART of the record, in the booklet,

special edition, and big book...almost as long as it took to record hybrid theory

(sic). The album has amazing photos, lyrics, and notes about how the songs came

together--it's the visual half of the record. On the other hand, the

super-special-edition book is packed with exclusive images, stories of the making

of the songs, gorgeous art, the CD and a DVD that tells the story, showing the

actual moments of inspiration caught on camera. For me, it's almost hard to

imagine anyone really experiencing this album without that part of it.

Even the song sequence alone is very important. It's WAY different to hear the

songs in a random order than to listen to this record from beginning to end. At the

very least, if you've already downloaded the songs, do us a huge favor and listen

to them in the right order...it'll be way more rewarding."

* Mike Shinoda performs rap vocals on only two tracks this time, "Bleed It Out" and "Hands Held High". This is a significant decrease

compared to previous albums. The rap vocals on the album are reportedly much

closer styled to Mike Shinoda's side project Fort Minor than his traditional Linkin

Park verses.

* The cover photo was taken at the Salton Sea.

* This is the first Linkin Park album to contain guitar solos.

* This is the first Linkin Park album which contains almost no DJ elements except

on the songs "What I've Done" and "In Pieces".

* This is the first Linkin Park album to feature all band members on the cover, to

be co-produced by Mike Shinoda, to receive a parental advisory logo (excluding

Collision Course, the mash-up album with Jay-Z) and where Mike Shinoda sings

lead vocals for a full length track ("In Between"), rather than rapping.

* This is the first Linkin Park album to feature lyrics inspired by political content.
it is VERY different.

i don't like it as much as the old stuff, but i think it's still good.

i wish they had mike and chester on the same tracks, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

but linkin park is still one of my favorite bands and i love their album artwork, so i'll

definitely still be buying it when it comes out!

I just heard it this morning and thought the same thing. Too many slow songs. I kept waiting for a hard song that rocked. Only like 2 songs that really got me going. I guess Mike did all of his rapping on his Fort Minor cd cuz there isn't much on this one. And no Mr. Hahn track.

It sounds good and all, just not what I would expect/want from Linkin Park. I've been a fan of them since they were called Hybrid Theory.
