I know, its not too bad. Im just going on my first impressions. The cd is far better than most other mainstream hip hop cds on the shelves these days, but then again, I dont think its living up to its hype.

In all honesty, I'd probably like it a lot more if it wasnt a Kanye cd. His delivery just irks me the wrong way.

I love how everyone is all over paul walls shit on drive slow. just sounds like the typical bling bling southern bullshit to me.

CD is ok, I expected something much better. It's overproduced and disjointed.

Overproduced? I'd say the opposite. Most of the drums sounds like they came directly off an LP or directly from the sound-bank. I didnt hear any real creativity with anything. Another one of my pet peeves, like I mentioned above, are the vocals. I dont understand how you can have a gritty bit-crushed beat and have pristine super crystal-clear vocals on top of it. They should be treated as an instrument IMO. Another thing is that if you listen closely, you can hear where they probably took different takes on different days because the vocal tone and mic placement wasnt matched up exactly the same.

I just think they skimped in some areas. The music on this cd is pretty good, its just that it could have been 100x better.

id rather see them fight for it. personally, i would just like to see kanyes *** *** get ***** slapped.

He ran with Dre and Snoop in their early days.......Look into some of his stuff, I love it.

uh that was eazy e and dre back in the days of 85 and so on dre was the one that discovered the d.o.c and then in 91 dre hooked up with the 213 click witch he met snoop and well you now the rest

That's not really what I meant. Did you hear any of the songs when some of them originally leaked 4-5 weeks ago? He added a bunch of unnecessary instruments and effects at the end, seemingly for the hell of it. Brion is too far gone and obsessed with layers to tell Kanye it's too much.

And I agree about the poor mastering, maybe something will be different on the final pressing. The d*mn thing cost over two million to make for Christ's sake.

yeah, ive downloaded a couple different versions over the last few weeks. i see what youre saying.

There was no advance, and while RNS is pretty good with retail rips, the rls didn't come with scans, so you can never be certain of the source.
