Hey... i just landed myself a horrible job... but it has blow your mind benefits.

They have a 401(k) plan, where they will match 75% of your deposit, up to 4% of your check. In 4 years you become fully invested and they match 100%

They pay 100% tuition, 50% books and fees for any major related to the company. pay isnt too bad at 10.85 an hour, with 1.5 time on saturdays, and if you work sunday its double time. I get discounts on new cars, verizon celly bills, travel packages...all kinds of other stuff

The bad part..... its a factory job. I work at a place that manufactures shocks and struts for toyota, nissan, subaru, honda, they also do stuff for honda, suzuki, and kawasaki atv's. I work 5:30 pm - anywhere from 2am -530 am.

I'm living with pops, and dont have to pay any bills other then normal stuff... cell, insurance and gas for the car.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif in a year, i plan on buying myself a brand new car...

The benefits sound really good. The hours look kinda harsh. I think you should take advantage of the tuition benefits and just concentrate and finish school asap. Then you'll have a degree and be able to make real money.

Although, $10.something is pretty decent considering you're still at home and no major bills to pay. I'm 23 myself and wish I took advantage of my dad's veteran tuition assistance but I chose to work too much and bs my time away. So I'm about 3/4 done with college now and am too old for the benefits. So I gotta pay 3g's a semester to finish school outta my pocket. A lot of my friends finished college last year and now they have jobs that pay. =/

Not saying that a college education will guarantee you big money, but it could only help in securing a good future for yourself and I think it's an accomplishment that'll make you proud for life.

Oh yeah, another piece of advice... Stay away from credit card debt. That shit is EVIL!

yea, i know about credit cards and all that... im putting in the full 4% that they will match into my 401(k). i was planning on attending purdue or iupui for mech. engineering.

sorry to hear that you are paying for your college out of your pocket =\. hopefully you will reap the benefits.

i was offered a job starting at 35k a year when i finish college. so im going for a business degree when i get my core stuff out of the way. the lady said really anywhere in the country she could land me a job, and that its as secure depending on how i work. im really thinking back to florida, orlando area but not exactly where i was, or california. long beach area. she said generally the pay is 35k but most likely pay fluctuates with area, but no less than 35k. so im looking to strictly get school done........i love having my dad pretty high up in the field lol.

those benefits do sound really good, but that hourly wage seems rather low... what is the job doing?
Hoss, i work in the OS-3 Department, or Outer Shell 3. Im loading robotic welders and presses all day with a piece that has a hollow endcap with a knuckle bracket on it. I have to load a spot welder to weld on a stabilzer bracket, and then a robotic welder for another bracket.

In a year ill be making 12.35 an hour.

my job which offers all the same benefits plus a few starts off at 11.08/hr and im in an air conditioned building sitting behind a desk talking to people all day. what can i say i love my job
