new head unit wiring help needed!

Hey guys I need some help here, I just bought a pioneer double din head unit I bought a after market harness too so I didn't splice the factory one.. I hooked up everything right to my understand red to red black to the black on the harness and yellow to yellow and orange/whire to solid orange but both marked illumination wires.. I get power to the to the radio I can tell because the red light blinks and the cd drive will work but the issue is that the screen or any of the bottons will not work and I got no idea what to do I don't think any of my fuses are bad.. I have a 2003 GMC 2500hd by the way if that helps!
