you could also dig up last years model for cheap I just got my 5444 brand new from Good Guys for $230 I love my HU so far, although I wish I could have gotten the 8454 but those are harder to find and I wanted to buy the HU local. I looked at event he new top of the line units and Did not like they way they looked, very unfortunate since they are very good HUs.

matches interior color. i guess the look of the 5425 goes along with the interior of the car.

I assure you it looks even worse in person! Especially at night. However, my eight year old daughter thinks it is about the coolest thing ever with its bright red shining face.

I tell you, I really think I jumped the gun buying this unit instead of Alpine, which I have had in the past. I am now looking at Alpine amps, which I have discovered are very controllable from certain Alpine HU's. That just kills me.

Also, to adjust the volume, tracks, stations etc on the Eclipse I find that i must use two (but only two) fingers on the small, almost flush, rotary knobs.

Still, I have heard very few negative opinions about the SQ. I still can't speak about the SQ myself, as I have bought the rest of my system yet.
