new eclipse decks?

The eclipse CD3000 and the other ones, i like them, and they save they have this ESN theft protection. My one concern is the theft protection. My first question is does anyone know if the faceplate is detachable on these? Second, what the hell good is an ESN, doesnt that just make it so you have to have the original cd to turn it on once it has been reinstalled? How is that gonna keep a crack head theif from jackin it? He proly doesnt know that, and is still gonna take it, so the only thing you get from that is the satisfaction that he will not be using it. Well, im sorry, but that doesnt do much for me cause i would still be without a cd player in that case.

ESN is very nice in that it does lock the system up....I believe there are still theifs out there who specialize in stealing car stereos and they'd know the difference...... but you're right a crack-head will still jack it if he had the chance.
